Keys Business Village

Keys Business Village

Keys Business Village, offers a state-of-the-art business environment over three storeys totalling 20,900 sq ft. The scheme provides serviced office accommodation for start-up and small businesses, plus a range of individual office suites for larger operations.

The brief was to design, install and support a communications infrastructure together with audio visual and presentation systems that would provide value added services to prospective tenants and encourage overall take-up. Flexible workspace was key and therefore any proposed infrastructure had to adapt to flexibility and the grow on space of the accommodation.

The proposed solution consisted of Nexans™ Cabling Solutions LANmark-6© category 6 copper systems serving 1000 ucps together with two communications rooms – one to each wing with inter fibre connectivity.

With the importance on inter-changeability and flexibility of floor connection points, horizontal cabling systems consisted of cables terminating to sub floor, slab laid presentation boxes complete with hydra cables to raised floor flush floor boxes. Umbilical coils were provided connecting sub and raised floor box systems thereby allowing maximum relocation.

Through careful floor plate and outlet design, this meant that any floor box would relocate to cover an area of an adjacent box and hence maximum floor outlet coverage was maintained.
In addition, Digitech AV were commissioned to provide high specification audiovisual systems for seminar, boardroom, meeting and training rooms, as well as information displays for the reception and drop in areas.

Visual display was provided throughout in the form of 55” and 63” wall mounted plasma screens. Smart Interactive whiteboards were installed in the meeting rooms and plasma displays complete with digital TV channels and Smart overlays for interactive use were installed within the seminar rooms.

Audio was provided via a stereo amplifier and full range loudspeakers. Control and automated switching of equipment is achieved via the integration of a 4” AMX wired touch panel at the desktop. All source and control equipment was housed in equipment racks. In addition, twin wall-mounted bespoke presentation cabinets, providing writing surfaces, were installed in the boardroom in a Cherry veneer finish in co-ordination with the desking. The installation was complimented with the installation of a Polycom™ video conferencing system within the main boardroom providing the ability not only to communicate with remote clients but also to completely interact using drawing tools and presentation techniques within the Smart™ interactive systems.
